i must remember, and keep on reminding myself that i am writing this blog for myself and myself only. everything that i write or say will not be held against me in the court of law. i have the right to remain silent (which at the moment, i shall not be) & i have the right to an attorney (i would rather use myself).
fareeha and ali came after school (for those of u who dont know, "school" is iba for me) to work on the micro economics project. im glad ali's on the team, he takes charge and likes to get things done. is more focused than i am (now). the problem was, how do u measure equilbrium and all other economic thingies for a product that has no price? i.e. radio?
i ordered pizza. no one was hungry. but i ordered pizza. for myself. i was also hoping ali and fareeha would take a bite out of the pizza itself, but they didnt. which at first confused me. i mean, if there is free pizza, are u not supposed to have it? even if you dont feel like eating? no one did. except myself. and me. and me again. that makes 3 slices and a softer, more rounder body.
mum joins us after several hours and the age old debate of women, men, marriage & racism resumed. funny thing is, we accuse the british of being very racist, as in, i know from my personal experiences in hong kong how it is to be termed as a "paki" and have people not be friends with u for that reason alone. or people not talk to u coz u were neighter black, nor white. but i was in kindergarden. and where such occurances did occur, they did not prevail for more than 2 minutes. but the threat was always there. or the background thought anyway.
right, so we accuse the british of being racist, but isn't it true that we, pakistanis, engage in a lot of racism ourseleves? we differentiate between pathans, punjabis, sindhis, balochis, urdus-speaking people, sairaikis and god knows who. im not sure whether i believe firmly in racist errr "beliefs", i dont consider it to be right and i firmly believe that no one should hold a bias against another person because of the race he/she belongs to, but i have to admit that certain cultural differences do arrise because of a difference in geographical regions... i mean, we are not all the same are we? people of a certain geographical location do share a certian set of similarities such as food preferences, clothes, local customs, social values etc.... but that does not mean we firmly attach a racial bias to them. does race matter or doesnt it?
there is nothing sweeter in the world than seeing babies of, well, everything. this cat gave birth to three kittens in our front gallery. she has removed them form there now. but i saw one of them. it was a tabby, with gold, orange, grey and black stripes. it poked its head out some plants and it was the cutest thing ever. it aroused a heartfelt "aww" from both me and fareeha.... the mama cat was hissing at us from under the window, intimidating me-i could not get a single picture. and i didnt get to see another kitten after that :(
aww...
*yawn*
meow ;)
