so far, no word from bayl :(went today and bought amazing book from liberty books. i forgot how it felt to buy a new book. the happiness, the complete euphoria one feels when holding the book that one has just bought. one feels like skipping out the bookstore, into the main mall area and outside, holding the book out with huge stupid smile. *my precious*
eyes literally expand in all directions when entering a bookshop, trying to take all the information about all the books in. went in and promptly asked for book in question, was asked the name of the author several times and the shop assistants screwed up their faces as though they had never heard the name before (how could anyone not?!). they looked and they looked and i looked and i looked (also browsed through other books a bit), they made a phone call and still could not find the book. even told them when it was published.
eventually, an assistant with amazing, silky flowing hair handed me 8 or so books (new arrivals) which i went through quickly and discovered i'd already browsed through them earlier. he asks, politely, which book are you looking for madam? and i tell him. and he asks me the name of the author, and i tell him. his eyes light up and he goes aah yes!, and going towards the entrance of the bookshop, plucks a book from behind the display and gives it to me! its a hardback copy, he informs me. i couldnt care less. i had the book, in perfect condition and thats all that mattered.
browsed a little more till sister informed me she had a huge bathroom emergency. paid for book and came outside, sat in car. held book up to read the little bit they reveal about it behind the front cover even though i had already read it in the author's website and in the bookshop's website. put it back carefully in the plastic wrapping and waited to reach home.
i havent felt such pure happiness in a long time. i love books. simply love them.
and the first part of the book was a little freaky because, it described a certain aspect of a certain ex relationship which ended amicably. it was soo... near home.
supposed to complete project and submit tomorrow. lotsa work left. dont want to do it. being the super woman that i think i am, but all my angels know im not, i volunteered to type and finish the whole thing for my group members. :(
