NFP's review and photography.

'Iss Bar Milo'
Hadiqa & Amir Zaki

This is awesome! Both the song and the video. Hadiqa puts aside her sudden post–Roshni fascination with the glossy trivialities of designer wardrobes, Zaki comes around alive and kicking after seeming all at sea in the last couple of years, and (video director), Jami returns with a vengeance after the big–budget fiasco that was Ali Azmat's 'Deewana' or worse, Fuzon's candy!
I shall speak more of this song when I do a preview of Hadiqa and Zaki's debut album, Rough Cut, in the coming weeks, but not in a long time have I heard a Pakistani pop/rock song with such a charismatic, cool guitar hook, haunting, distant vocals (a far cry from Hadiqa's recent forayer into bland gloss pop!), and a video so stark and disturbing that it make's Ali's 'Na Re Na' seem like a bubblegum take on matters of madness!

the news

currently listening to: Prayer In Passing by Anoushka Shankar.

just uploaded pictures on my photo blog.

so much has been said on the music festival. but i think I.S describes it best. do read her rendition of it.

its good to know someone shares my feelings and views on is baar milo. a respected music critic. gives my views validation somehow. or does that even matter? validation that is.

uploading pictures on my photoblog reminded me of how much i absolutely love taking pictures. and i'd like to take this opportunity to mention that currently, i'm a wanna be photographer without a digital camera (developing stills is too expensive an option). the digital camera that i had been using belonged to my sister. who is now married. and has taken the camera with her. and i'm too poor to buy one myself. needless to say i was (still am) heartbroken at having it taken away from me. even if it wasn't mine.

anyone willing to donate one?
