it has been fantastically raining outside! i took pictures which i shall be posting soon. got late for work and someone came to see mum, so she asked me to take a cab/rickshaw to work. wearing a tshirt and jeans, i grabbed a stole and walked out... ...and was glad mum wasn't dropping me. the weather was absolutely amazing! i had a great time standing in the street with the cars passing by and the wind blowing my hair. lots of cabs passed by but i waited for a rickshaw. got into one and it started to rain lightly. loved it. simply loved it. it was heavenly. couldnt stop smiling. took camera out at an intersection and risked taking some pictures... walked slowly towards my office building and rushed upstairs and told everyone it was raining... will go out in office balcony if it rains a bit harder. perfect rain moments like these makes one feel like she has been cleansed. of everything that shouldnt have been there in the 1st place.
met amazing person/photographer shahidul alam yesterday. (thats him in the picture, the girl was showing him her portfolio) do visit his organisation's website and see the work they have been doing. i found Photography by Children particularly moving. you can see it by clicking on the "articles" section when u click drik. another way of getting there would be by clicking on this. but the reason why i didn't link Photography by Children with this link was because it would have taken you away from drik and drik you must see. it is photography with a difference.
shahidul gave me my 1st photography lesson and i cant wait to experiment with what he has taught me.
thank you shahidul.
thank you z.a.k. (for having me around)
thank you God (for everything really, but especially for today's cool rainy weather).
please read formerly sdit's blog entry, Haram: Yemen, The Hidden Half Speaks, it is a blog entry with a difference.
