me & the pDc

day before yesterday was the first day of the Pakistan Developer's Conference. as happens in conferences, i got a free bag, pen, notebook, VisualStudio.net CD and what not. the usual tea and lunch at the PC.

so like, since i'm not a techie but the assistant editor, R and the other editorial assistant, F is and since ali thinks its vital that F and i learn how to attend conferences (i attended shit loads during my short stint at the iba for godsakes)... i was 'forced' to attend. at least on the first day.

arrive 20 min late, meet F, who helps me get my 'press' card (uff, i felt soo important :P ) and bag etc and joined by R we go and take our *ahem* coffee break. this wa such a shocking difference from the entertainment-related events i normally attend: almost every other person wore glasses, had matted down hair, and everyone minus the women (there must've been 5 in the entire hall) wore pants a little above their waists.

ladies and gentlemeen, it was cool to be a geek.

conversations that were a little too intelligent for me.
i prefer the more primitive monkey-talk thank u.

R and F scanned the agenda for topics that sounded technically awesome to me and they decided on one and off we head to attend our first conference lecture uh thingie.

we sat in the 2nd last row so it would be easier to escape if this didn't turn out that well. the lights were dimmed, the projector was turned on, people took out their notebooks and i took out my copy of MR. magazine. yes, i believe its important to educate oneself on the lit men are reading nowadays.

learnt some very important things at the conference:
— men are increasingly becoming image conscious and can shop for themselves. (wooooohhh...)
— men seek to educate themselves via internet and magazines.
— some men drool over a woman with nice hands and feet (glances at mine hmm... not bad, not awesomely beautiful, but they hold potential).

and oh i also learnt that people dont call the programmer to complain if the system is working right. (like, DOH!)

more might be posted later :)

And they told you this at a Microsoft conferance? Hahaha

You have possibly the best looking feet I've ever laid my eyes upon. Remember me yelling at you for hiding them under hideous boy scout shoes?!

bayl:i did! and many other things as well! i'm telling you, if MR. magazine goes at the rate it is, then it'll be a major source of almost-reliable information on metrosexula men!

about the feet, i almost destroyed. and need to go shoe shopping. i have no clue as to what to buy :(

sabi:i'm glad you liked it :)
