that was a short break :) i couldn't resist blogging.

"light my fire" by the doors playing on my playlist right now and no one covers that song better than aamir zaki. it was made for him.

i love staying back after work now and then, i like the sudden peace and quiet. first things first, i'm glad i took a short break from entertainment writing as well, although there hasn't been a break in my images waley articles, but four days of writng about science and technology make me want to write about entertainment again. in the middle when i thought i'd lost it, partly because i was sick of the shallowness of it all and because i wanted something more meaningful in my life... i came accross photographs taken by an indian doctor, dr. vivek M. emailed him because i wanted to know more about him and i found out that photography is not his primary profession. he loves taking pictures and making small documentaries when he's not "the doc".

somehow i found it all strangely peaceful. it's amazing the way people diversity and seek alternate ways to expres themselves. it's like discovering a different, more pleasant side to a person that you meet everyday. his pictures are beautiful, and may not be the best that i've come accross so far, but they make me feel... peaceful. somehow. they're simple and bring out the beauty in a person's everyday life and everyday people.

i love seeing the world through another person's eyes. it's like discovering the world all over again, only from a different angle.

and i'm only begining to understand the intricacies involved in classical music. my ustaad and i are working on a khayal kaushak dhani right now and so far, i'm enjoying the development in the depth and strenght of my vocal chords. the thing that i'm learning with kaushak dhani is, classical requires patience. in singing. you cant rush it. cant switch from one note to another, you need to advance to it. as in, glide towards it literally. but so far, its been fun.

i've just recently discovered the pleasures of singing out loud in an almost empty house.

ps: the person who is inclined towards calling my ustaad a quack, i would appreciate if you wouldn't. honestly, dont. (you know who you are).
