bari ladki goes to sunday bazaar

sajid & zeeshan won a special IM award- "Debut in a Foreign Language Song"-for their song "king of self" !!!
check out the IM press release of the awards here.

acted like the bari ladki today. in full. cleaned, washed dishes, made the beds, cleaned the closets, supervised the sweeping, did the laundry, helped mum around. leg muscles ached, back ached, got a glass full of ice and poured 7-up into it, watched the grinch on the movie channel.

went to sunday bazaar with younger sister hira. its hira and me now. and surprisingly, this whole wedding thing ha somehow brought us close. we communicate better. we get along better. mashAllah say. right. so went to sunday bazaar. thanks to hira (who is a mean bargainer, is four years younger than me but manages to intimidate the shop walas) got things at amazingly cheap rates and ended up with several bags full of "things". shopping list included:

7 pairs of socks
2 belts
1 pink purse
1 pink poncho (am not a pink person, but i couldn't help myself!)
1 shirt
1 sleeveless sweater thingie
1 amazing coffee table book on guitars

hira's list:

2 pairs of socks
3 ponchos
3 belts
2 shirts

sawda we bought for mum:

4 kg onions
1 kg sweet potatoe(mainly for ourselves)

tomorrow, we plan to take nani to the forum... she's dying to go. and sometime later, to zainab market.

i forgot how much fun shopping could be! :)

we felt like grown ups when we bought the onions... it was amazing. i jumped around smiled and acted the way i do, but hira... she was more like the adult. dont know what i'd do without her. and she's 4 years younger than me.

sunday bazaar is amazing. especially if you know whats where. and in the winters its even better coz even after 2 hours of shopping, ur not bathed in sweat and tempers all around aren't on an all time rise :)

btw: why dont u go? *raising eyebrow*
