bogged down with work but i'm happy. might have to stay late in order to meet deadlines but i'm happy.

other than spider work: mini editing, proof reading, reasearching and writing, i have images work, which includes research on a particular individual and on a band visiting karachi very soon. it also includes completing an album review i've been tryin to complete for the past 4 days. the thing is, my cd player and computer system have gone out for repairs and ive been soo busy at spider that i haven't the time to sit down and listen to the entire cd. will behave myself and will do it today.

work also includs outlining a marketing plan for a dear friend who's album will be launched very soon. thankfully i have my latest angel, OA, helping me out.

my subway just arrived :)

i love my workplace. simply lurve it. i get to download as many songs as i want. every system has its own headphone set and i err managed to "borrow" a coworker's speakers for the while she's away on vacation. publications from all around the world and newspapers being delievered all around pakistan arrive from under the door everyday. i pick up free copies of any dawn publication that i want :)

editor is stringent about getting work done right and on time. encourages out-of-the-box ideas as long as they're related to what the magazine is about. i have become an expert at google-ing information and learn new things about everything everyday.

also, recently found out that my editor is married to my grammar teacher (when i was in iba). ironic isn't it? editor marries grammer teach. thier aim in life is to make the world a more english-proper place.

simply lurve editor because well, being editor and having worked longer in journalism, he is a human replica of google minus the geeki-ness. his head is full of facts and details about anything and everything. and whats more, he knows shit-loads about music and musicians. local and international. more than i do anyway. it makes google-ing them easier and i have discovered some really nice, eccentric ones (songs and musicians) thanks to him. also, a fanatic for, and my partner-in-crime when it comes to our one common guilty pleasure: mc.donalds :)

here is the only disadvantage i can think of working where i work: i edit and proof read everything i come accross. its slowly becoming second nature.

readin instep's review of ali inayat's album (the dude who balatantly ripped off backstreet boys in "you've got something" and got away with it) and i was scandalised to come accross a word, "guitarring" being used repeatedly in the article. i mean, wtf?! ladies and gentlemen, there is NO SUCH WORD as GUITARRING.
what is even more upsetting is how could the editors overlook such a major mistake?! i mean... GUITARRING ?!

_________ this part has been added right before leaving workplace
_________
the perfect end to a day at work is switching off most of the lights and dancing around the office for 15 minutes before packing up and leaving. on days when one doesn't feel like dancing, one walks around the office singing to a favorite song.

and urbaNiche is my new older sister :)
