book week shook week

Have decided to give in and do this thing-ie. something to do with book-week happening somewhere. who decides when book-week will happen anyway? and where are my books?

1. One that changed my life:
Dolphin Sunrise by Elizabeth Webster, i was 10 and it was part of the Readers Digest Condensed Book project (thinigie).

2. One that I've read more than once:
Most of the books that i own have been read more then once.

3. One I'd want on a desert island:
there isn't just one...arrgh... nope, one book would not be possible. either all or none.

4. One that made me laugh:
huh?

5. One that made me cry:
The road to Chandibole by Marie Gerrina Louis.

unfortunately i haven't been able to keep it in my possession for more then a couple of days at a time. it was stolen 2 years back. yes, stolen and the (heartless) thief.... he/she.... that book meant a lot to me and it's bloody not available in pakistan (karachi) anywhere. will be one of the first things i buy (online. from certain bookstores that stock it) the moment i get my credit card made.

6. One I am currently reading:
a book on the evolution of coffee houses (cafes) and their contribution towards the social and political enviornment in early Britain to now.

7. One I have been meaning to read:
Clash of Civilizations, Love in the time of Chlorea (expect a spelling error in this), Khushwant Singhs (there is more then one) and the ten other un-read books in my book case.

8. One I think everyone should own:
Rolling Stone - the complete covers (1967-1977)
this is for now, i dont know what book i'd reccomend several months from now.

9. One that I wish had never been written:
The 786 Cybercafe by Bina Shah, A Short History of Nearly Everything (the title is enough to drive one crazy. "short" history? "everything"?. i couldn't move past the first 2 pages).

10. One that I wish had been written:
... where do i start? * sigh *

Rather weak, I thought. But who can argue when literary people approve...

rayhan: i would really like to know as to who, in your opinion, 'qualifies' to be a 'literary' person.
