i love the people around me sometime. bought rugs yesterday for office and they've managed to give the office a cozy look. a co-worker from another department came in and 'ooh aah-ed' and took directions to rug-seller and tips on how to get the office's look changed :)editor revealed that he's changed his name from FQ to Muhammad Ibrahim Ahmed Qureshi or more simply Ibrahim. according to him, a fortune-predicting lady told him he better change his name before he turned 40 because FQ was bringing him bad luck. Ibrahim is more suited.
the same lady also told him that the present colour of the walls in the office would also bring him bad karma and that he should get it changed. even though the colour of the walls was somewhat accidental, but it looks rather nice now. this is how i tried to refute his 'theory':
formerly FQ: ... it's bad because a) it's not good for work and b) it's bad for health.
me: well i beg to differ, Amean J (photographer) and Umar Anwar (music video director) both have the same colour on their office walls and they get a lot of work. i dont know about the health bit though.
formerly FQ: they'd get more work if they change the colour of the walls.
i'm going to pick up an old, but exceptionally gifted, half-crazy (in a brilliant way) friend of mine who needs an escape during lunch hours from her current workplace.
i should learn from ex-FQ now-Ibrahim and use the bad karma excuse whenever i dont like something. for example, i cant eat desi curry because it brings bad karma to my stomach and taste buds.
